ABOUT THE CENTER
The mission of the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin is
to develop a vital and engaged community dedicated to building and sustaining
quality of life by:
> enriching and strengthening volunteerism and nonprofit organizations
> enhancing community leadership and involvement
> promoting the impact and value of the nonprofit sector
Our offerings include:
Volunteer Center
We maintain a database of volunteer opportunities in Marin County,
match volunteers with agencies and projects, facilitate disaster response,
and offer youth-targeted service programs.
Nonprofit Management Services
The Center recruits and trains board members for local nonprofits,
offers affinity groups, workshops and professional development opportunities
for nonprofit staff and boards. Other services offered by the Center include
an Executive Transition Program, Marin Leadership Institute and a program
for Interim Executive Directors. A Nonprofit Conference is offered every
other year by the Center.
Community Service Opportunities
Our wide range of programs and events offer ways for community
members, local businesses, and schools to connect with the nonprofit sector.
Events include the Marin Human Race, the Marin Designer Showcase and the
Heart of Marin Awards.
Nonprofit Resource Center
We are housed in the Nonprofit Resource Center in San Rafael.
Our meeting rooms are available to all nonprofits with a current 501(c)3.
Our Resource Center and Library are open to the public and all building
facilities are accessible to the disabled.
